Polly’s Pancake Parlor
Historic Motor Sports to Polly’s Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill
The ride to Polly’s Pancake Parlor is a scenic 155 mile/5 hour + ride that runs from Candia, NH up an eastern route to allow us to use the iconic Kancamagus Highway to travel back west across the State to North Woodstock, just below the Franconia Notch. We started at 8:30 in the morning, you can start at whenever time suits your schedule.
It then follows a wide loop to the west to avoid having to go on Interstate 93 through the Notch – and ends at Polly’s Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill.
It is, of course, not necessary to follow the entire route. You are free to start and end wherever you chose to. Various starting/stopping points are identified along the way to give you “ideas.” You are obviously free to review the route and start wherever it works best for you.
Attached are the two maps that make up a drive from Historic Motor Sports to Polly’s Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill. The best time to take this Drive is in early to mid-June when the Lupines are in bloom in Sugar Hill. Check the Franconia Chamber of Commerce site (http://www.franconianotch.org/events/) for dates.
Note that, although it appears on the map that much of the route follows Route 16, that is true only north of the end of the Spaulding Turnpike. We take Route 125 from Rochester to Milton Mills. You are free to use the Turnpike if you like, but we prefer to use the smaller, more scenic roads that parallel the Spaulding.
